Corporate Events
Why not hire a real North East colliery band for your next business occasion? Backworth Colliery Band brings 140 years of heritage to awards dinners, conferences, product launches, PR events and outdoor corporate events.
Booking the band also supports a community organisation: the band is amateur and self-funding, and every fee goes back into instruments, music and the Training Band.
The band was formed in 1886 among the Backworth collieries and still carries their name. For a North East business, a colliery band is a way of celebrating the region’s working history at a launch, an anniversary or an awards night.
The full band, around 25 players, gives the complete brass band sound for concerts, galas, parades and big outdoor events. A smaller ensemble of nine or ten players suits churches, receptions and venues with less space. Other line-ups may be possible depending on the occasion and players’ availability, so just ask.
Every booking is priced individually, depending on the event, the location, the music and the number of players. The band is amateur and self-funding, so every fee goes back into instruments, music and the Training Band. Tell us about your event through the enquiry form and we will come back to you with a quote.
