Our Musical Director, Chris Travis, steps down after Christmas, and we’re looking for the person to take the baton. We want strong musical leadership that keeps the band’s positive, enjoyable and supportive atmosphere, and we welcome experienced Musical Directors as well as ambitious conductors ready to take the next step.
Rehearsals are on Monday and Thursday, 7:30pm–9:30pm, in Backworth, North Tyneside. Auditions take place in the weeks commencing 8 and 15 December 2026, during normal rehearsals: shortlisted candidates work with the band on an agreed section of the Area test piece, a band choice and their own choice, then chat informally with the band and committee.
