Our Commitment

The Safety of Every Member Comes First

The safety and wellbeing of every member, particularly children and young people, is our highest priority. The band follows the Charity Commission’s safeguarding guidance.

  • The band has a written safeguarding policy, available on request.
  • A named safeguarding lead is responsible for safeguarding and for handling any concerns.
  • Everyone who works with the Training Band is DBS checked.
  • We maintain appropriate supervision and adult-to-child ratios at rehearsals and activities.
  • We obtain parental consent for all members under 18, and we ask for consent before publishing photographs of under-18s.

Raising a concern. If you have a safeguarding concern, please email backworthcollieryband@hotmail.co.uk with “Safeguarding” in the subject line and it will be passed to our safeguarding lead. If a child is in immediate danger, call 999.
